About
A game site that shows its work
GameGuidesHQ tracks four public Steam boards every day and turns them into pages you can audit. It is not a review outlet and it does not have early access to games. Its only advantage is that it captures, stores and dates public data instead of paraphrasing it.
What we collect
- Store details, media, price and system requirements from Steam's public app page endpoint.
- Review counts, review scores and English-language review text from Steam's public reviews endpoint.
- Board ordering from Steam's storefront and featured-category feeds.
Every stored object keeps the source URL, the fetch time, the HTTP status and a SHA-256 hash of the response. That is why a page can say “captured 2026-10-21” and mean it.
What we do not do
- We do not estimate player counts, sales, review scores or release dates.
- We do not present our own ranking as a Valve chart. Our “most reviewed” board is labelled as our metric.
- We do not paraphrase a player and present it as a quote.
- We do not publish a guide without a source list and a human review flag.
Report a correction
If a number is wrong, the underlying capture is wrong. Send the page URL and the specific claim and we will re-capture the source rather than editing the sentence. Corrections are recorded in the page's change log.
Remove a quoted review
We quote short excerpts of public Steam reviews with the author's public persona name and a link to the original. If you wrote one of those reviews and want it removed, contact us with the review permalink. We mark it removed and rebuild within 24 hours. We never store avatars or any non-public profile data.
